MeVis Medical Solutions announces the MeVisLab 2.0 Release Candidate

MeVisLab 2.0 Release Candidate available

The MeVisLab team at MeVis Medical Solutions and Fraunhofer MEVIS is proud to announce the release of the MeVisLab 2.0 SDK Release Candidate.

The new MeVisLab 2.0 version is the first major release after the MeVisLab software has been legally transferred from Fraunhofer MEVIS (formerly MeVis Research) to MeVis Medical Solutions AG. With this acquisition, MeVis Medical Solutions intends to strengthen its research and innovation activities, to support the position of MeVisLab in the field of medical image computing, and in particular to reinforce its partnership with Fraunhofer MEVIS. The further development and advancement of MeVisLab, as well as the communication with the MeVisLab users community will be pursued as a joint effort between MeVis Medical Solutions and Fraunhofer MEVIS.

The new MeVisLab 2.0 version represents a major update of the MeVisLab SDK software. The highlights of this version are:

  • Flexible new package structure to facilitate module management
  • 64 bit support (for Linux and Windows)
  • Over 30 new modules provided by Fraunhofer MEVIS
  • New ToolRunner application that helps in daily MeVisLab tasks
  • Improved Network Rendering and functionality (Groups, Notes, ...)
  • New and improved documentation (GettingStarted, MeVisLab Reference Manual, ...)
  • Updated ITK/VTK versions, including many new modules
  • MeVisLab SDK now ships complete ThirdParty headers and libraries for your convenience
  • MeVisLab Public Sources are now integral part of MeVisLab SDK
  • Lots of bug fixes and small improvements

The MeVisLab 2.0 Release Candidate is a public pre-release of the MeVisLab 2.0 SDK, available for download on all supported platforms at the MeVisLab Download Page. We plan to release the MeVisLab 2.0 final release in 2-3 weeks after the release candidate.
